Ever since my husband's last visit with the doctor, he got himself a Fitbit® and a health plan. Needless to say, I was happy to finally have a gym partner.
I'm moderately active than I was last year. I'm hoping this kind of active lifestyle will continue. I really want to keep my liver healthy as much as I can. I'm doing pretty well for someone who no longer has a gallbladder to burn off the fat. I'm still amazed my metabolism is fairly high.
The only thing I need to change is getting myself a prebiotic and probiotic supplement to help my digestive system going smoothly.
I've always had digestive issues since my childhood. Even now almost in my 40s, there are still more types of food I have to avoid.
I haven't been keeping up on my blood pressure. It's a chore. I know I should continue monitoring it if my doctor needs to see me again.
The mirtazapine is doing a wonderful job. I'm sleeping; however, I am still experiencing bouts of restlessness and an occasional nightmare. My depression is not as bad as it was last year.
The mobile applications I have been using to keep track of my health are:
MealLogger - I chose this app because it was simpler than the ones I've tried.
CardioTrainer - I chose this app because it has a map feature to show how far I've walked/run/cycled/jogged (You get the picture)
Period Tracker - I chose this app because it has a lot more features than just tracking my menstrual cycle
The YouTube channels I follow regarding cooking good food:
Nyonya Cooking - Malaysian Food
Chris Urbano: Maputing Cooking - Filipino Food
Just Eat Life - Thai and Filipino Food
Ochikeron - Japanese Food
Rosanna Pansino: Nerdy Nummies - Geeky themed Desserts
Sweet Treats - Desserts
Tastemade - Channel featuring Epicureans and Chefs around the world

Strictly Dumpling - Chinese Food
Ever since I told my husband my story on how my mother trained me how to cook 5-star restaurant dishes, he would take me to his favorite restaurant and ask me to make it at home. I don't mind it so much now, since he actually enjoys the food I cook.
That's all my health update for now. Thanks for your support.
Nothing's worse than being told that you can't eat a certain type of food because it's bad for your body.

Health Update on the last month of 2016
I know my last health update was in May. So much has happened. I can't express the level of stress I had to deal with.
I am better now. The Mirtazapine medication has helped me managed my depression as well as my sleep. My body is naturally active as soon as the sun is up. Regardless of when I fall asleep, I am well rested with just having 6 hours of sleep. The only drawback is I am now stuttering when I speak. I am going to try to ease my way off gradually with the medication to see if that helps.
I have enrolled in Step Up Ministry's Life Skills program. I hope to learn how to better manage my anxiety since the VA's program is so popular, I'm on the waiting list to enroll into the next class. I am truly hoping that they are true to their word.
The best thing that my husband got me for being able to eat eggs again, was an egg timer by Taylor's. Today, had me beyond belief that I can eat hard boiled eggs again without getting sick on the spot. So, to summarize the incident, I followed the instructions like normal (submerge both the egg and the egg timer together in lukewarm water). Instead of watching the timer, I stepped off for a while to look for my daughter's school picture order. It didn't dawn on me to go back to the kitchen until I sat down to my computer desk. I panicked when the timer showed that I had cooked it to hard boiled.
After I prayed for my meal, I cut the egg in half. I was amazed! I had saved the egg on time. It was cooked to perfection. The best part was, I did not get sick on the spot. For all you egg enthusiasts, I recommend this invention hands down.

So, ever since I have been off my feet since February, I gained back the weight I lost. I'm hoping to get back in shape again as soon as I have myself in a better mood than I am now. It has been a trying year. I'm not losing hope just yet.
Things are actually looking up. The VA has better health programs than I can ever remember. I know it's not a big deal for me, but it is to some of my friends: the VA covers tattoos (aka cosmetic surgery) and gender alteration surgery. Oh, no! Drats! Just saw the headlines from last month. *sigh* "Republican Law-makers"? (Seriously unnerving)
Anyway, that's my update for this year. To good health and long life; cheers!
